Our Ethics

At Maine Aging Partners, we believe in progress through partnership, not pressure. We’re here to support both families and the senior care system with compassion, clarity, and integrity. Here’s what guides our work every day:

  1. We serve families of all financial backgrounds.
Whether you're navigating MaineCare or paying privately, you deserve honest, thoughtful support—no judgment, just clarity.

  2. We don’t name names in conversations with other facilities.
When we talk with families, we do compare features—because that’s part of making a good match. But we never share what we’ve heard from one facility with another, and we don’t speak about providers behind their backs. Our role is to support families without compromising our professional relationships.

  3. We only speak with facilities about residents when the resident gives direct permission.
We respect the privacy and autonomy of older adults. No conversations happen without their clear okay.

  4. We are values-aligned, not vendor-driven.
We don’t take referral fees or kickbacks. Our recommendations are based on what fits you, not who we know.

  5. We center the older adult.
Even when a family reaches out, our focus is always on the person receiving care—their preferences, voice, and dignity.

  6. We use experience to inform, not to steer.
We help you ask better questions and understand the system—without pressure or bias.

  7. We highlight quiet excellence.
Some of the best providers aren’t the flashiest. We make space for all options, especially those doing great work under the radar.

  8. We believe in sharing knowledge freely.
We offer tools, education, and real-world insight so you can make confident, well-informed decisions.
